Mobile App Development

Your customers already
have your app open.

It is their browser. A modern app installs straight from a link and lives on the home screen, no store, no download, no annual app-store fee. And when you genuinely need native power, we build that too, one codebase, every phone.

A real conversation, not a sales call. If you do not need an app, we will say so.

Start with the obvious

“Do we actually need an app?”

Most businesses are sold one too early. Ask what it is really for.

Here is the honest version nobody selling apps will give you. A lot of businesses do not need one yet.

An app earns its place when people come back often, on their phone, to do a real thing. They book, they order, they track, they check in, again and again, week after week.

If they visit you twice a year, that is a website, not an app: an app is for the customers who keep coming back, a website is for the ones still finding you.

You are not missing an app. You might be missing this.

And here is the part the app studios stay quiet about. For most businesses the right first app is not in the store at all. It is a web app that installs from a link, works on every phone, and costs a fraction to build, because your customers already have it open.

The apps worth putting on a phone

What we actually build.

Not a brochure with an icon. Actual apps a real customer opens on a Tuesday to book, order, track or check something, and comes back to next week.

01

Booking and ordering

Customers book a slot or place an order from their phone in seconds, get an instant confirmation, and never sit on hold or wait for a callback again.

02

Loyalty and rewards

Points, stamps and offers that live on the home screen, so regulars come back more often and you stop paying a third party for the privilege.

03

Field and staff apps

Your team on site sees the day’s jobs, captures photos and signatures, and updates everything from a phone, so the office is not chasing paper by evening.

04

Customer accounts

People log in, see only their own orders, bookings and documents, pay what they owe and track progress, without ever emailing to ask you for it.

05

Delivery and tracking

Customers watch an order or a job move in real time, on a map or a timeline, so the where is it call quietly stops coming in at all.

06

Directories and members

A searchable app of listings, members or venues that people keep on their phone, filter in a tap, and open far more than they ever open a website.

If you are wondering whether an app fits you

Booking apps, loyalty apps, field apps, and whatever you are picturing.

This is where most people arrive certain their idea is unusual, and it almost never is. Guesthouse and B&B systems, hotel and restaurant apps, tour and safari apps, lead-generation platforms, directories, CRMs, loyalty and booking apps, it is all the same handful of shapes underneath. If yours is not listed, that means nothing. Ask.

If people would open it,
we can build it.

That is not a slogan, it is the actual answer. There is only whether people will actually use it, and that is a conversation, not a category. Most of what we build is a familiar shape wearing your brand, doing one thing your customers will genuinely open.

Tell us your idea →
The question of the moment

“Can’t I just build it
with an app maker?”

You can build something. We would be lying if we said otherwise, and we are the last people who would be sniffy about AI or app makers, because our whole business runs on AI. Drag a few screens together in an app maker, or ask a chatbot, and you will have something that looks like an app by this evening. It is genuinely impressive, and for testing an idea it is the right tool.

What those tools quietly don’t tell you

They make something that looks finished. The part that gets it onto a real phone and keeps it there is missing.

It runs in a preview, not on a real phone
No store listing, no install, no updates
Slow, and it feels like a website in a frame
Fine for a demo, painful at real volume

The screens look right. A screen that looks right is not an app people keep.

The catch nobody mentions

You have to know what you’re looking at.

To ship an app maker build well, you have to spot when it will not pass store review, when it leaks a customer’s data, or when the monthly fee climbs faster than the app ever earns. The AI won’t tell you. It’s confident either way. A business owner has no way to know, and shouldn’t have to.

We use the exact same AI. The difference is that someone who has shipped this a hundred times is holding it, getting it onto real phones, and answering for the result.

The screens were never the hard part. The shipping was.

Same trap, on the website side

A minute to build, and it looks done. That’s the problem.

The AI website builders advertised everywhere produce a beautiful site in a minute, with no real SEO, no schema, no structure underneath. It sits there looking lovely, ranks for nothing, converts nobody, and brings you not one lead.

Our builder is the other kind on purpose: the SEO, the schema and the structure are baked in, because people who understand them built the engine.

A pretty website with no backbone isn’t cheap. It’s an expensive way to be invisible.

Where the app actually lives

A web app and a native app do not
live the same way.

This is the part most app studios quietly skip. A web app and a native app reach people in two different ways, and each is right for a different job, so we start by working out which one you actually need.

Your web app version installs from a link and reaches every phone instantly. The application native version goes in the App Store and Play Store for the times you truly need the camera, push or offline. Two paths, each right for the job, and we tell you honestly which one you need.

01

The web app, installed from a link

It works on every phone the moment you send a link, updates itself instantly, and skips the store, the review wait and the annual app-store fee entirely.

02

The native app, in the stores

When you genuinely need the camera, notifications or full offline use, we build and publish a real native app to both stores from one codebase, so iPhone and Android stay in step.

03

One build, both phones

You never pay to build twice. One codebase becomes the iPhone app and the Android app, and everything shows up in a single client area, on one login, on one invoice.

Nothing bolted on. Nothing rented.

No app-maker subscription. No per-download tax. No monthly platform fee that climbs the moment your app starts to work. Every part of it is coded, so there is nothing to break when an app maker changes its pricing or its rules overnight. And it wears your branding, not ours, not a vendor’s, because it is your app, in your accounts, and it should look like it.

The question everyone asks first

“Why not just use
an app builder?”

Sometimes you should, and we will tell you when. If a ready-made app does the job, costs a few rand a month and everybody already knows how to use it, buying it is the right answer and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

The trouble starts when it almost does the job. So you pay the next tier to remove the builder’s badge. Then more to lift the user limit. Then more for the feature it was missing, and a workaround for the one thing it still cannot do. A monthly fee that climbs with every user, a badge you can never fully remove, and an app you cannot take off their platform and truly own.

That is the moment a coded app becomes cheaper, and it is usually long after the point where it would have been simpler.

A coded appCoded for you
An app builder
Whose brand is on it
Yours, no badge, no wrapper
Theirs, on every screen
Monthly cost as you grow
Flat. Add users for free
Per user, climbing, forever
Who really owns it
You do, code and all
The platform does, not you
When the platform changes its rules
Nothing changes for you
You pay up, or you rebuild
Your data
Yours, in your own accounts
~Locked to their platform
Getting it into the app stores
We handle the whole submission
Their rules, if allowed at all
Cost to start
Speed on a real phone
Fast, it is a real native app
Cost after three years
One app, coded, that works
A template in a wrapper

If a ready-made app genuinely fits, buy the ready-made app. We would rather tell you that than take your money.

The one nobody will answer

“So what is this
going to cost me?”

Every agency page you’ve read today has dodged this. Here’s the honest version.

Nobody can quote an app from a paragraph, in the same way nobody can quote a building from the word house. But the ranges are real, we know them, and pretending otherwise just wastes a week of your life and ours.

The smallest app worth shipping
A tool

One job, done properly. A booking app your regulars install from a link. A loyalty card on the home screen. A simple ordering app that skips the phone call.

Weeks, not months. This is where most people should start, and almost nobody does.

The one people usually mean
A system

A real app with accounts, logins, payments and notifications. The thing your customers open every week, on both iPhone and Android, built once from one codebase.

A couple of months. The commonest build, and the one that pays for itself fastest.

When it is the business itself
A platform

Thousands of customers, your staff, live tracking, payments, subscriptions, a native app in both stores. This is not a tool for your business, it is your business.

Longer, and staged. We build it in pieces, and each piece works before the next one starts.

What actually moves the number

Not the design. Not the number of screens. It is how many things have to be true at once. “Show my bookings” is simple. “Show my bookings, unless the customer cancelled within 24 hours, in which case charge them half, unless they are a member, in which case do not, and notify staff either way”, that is where the time goes, and every business has a dozen rules like it they have never written down.

Where we start

So the first thing we do is write them down. Not to bill you for a document, but because the ones nobody mentioned are the ones that blow up a project.

How it goes

Nobody disappears
for three months.

The classic way app projects fail is that everyone agrees on a design, then nothing is seen again until it is finished and wrong. We build in pieces you can actually hold on your own phone.

01

We work out what it must do

A real conversation about who opens this app and why, including whether you even need one. We write the rules down, and tell you honestly what it takes.

02

We build the spine first

The screen people use most, working, on your phone, early. You tap through it before it is finished, and change your mind while that is cheap.

03

We hand it over properly

The code is yours, the store listings are yours, and all of it is documented. You are not locked to a platform, and any competent developer can continue without us.

Where we’ll talk you out of it

When you shouldn’t
build an app.

Everyone wants to sell you an app.
We will tell you when not to build one.

If you are not sure people will actually open it, do not build it. An app nobody installs is the most expensive icon you will ever own, and most businesses need a fast website long before they need an app.

If a fast, installable web app does 90% of what you need, ship that and skip the stores entirely. If you are hoping an app will create demand you do not have yet, it will not, an app serves the customers you already have. And if you want one only because a competitor has one, check whether theirs is actually used first, a surprising number are downloaded once and deleted.

Where we do it

Mobile app development,
in your market.

We build for businesses across seven markets, and we research each one before we write a line of code, because what a Port Elizabeth contractor’s customers will install is not what a London guesthouse’s will. Pick your country and we will show you the cities we work in.

On a city page, this section becomes “Everything we do in [City]”, linking to every service we offer there.

Everything else you’re wondering

The questions people ask
before they build.

Real questions, from people weighing up whether an app is worth building at all, and quite reasonably not sure yet.

“How much does it cost to build an app?”

Less than the app studios quote and more than the app makers admit. A simple installable web app is the cheapest route by far, because it skips the stores. A full native app in both stores costs more, but from one codebase, not two. The honest answer depends on how many rules your app has, and the only way to know is to write them down, which takes an hour of talking, not a paid discovery phase.

“Do I need a native app, or is a web app enough?”

For most businesses a web app is enough, and that is not us being cheap, it is us being honest. If your app needs the camera, notifications you can rely on, or serious offline use, you need native. If it needs to book, order, show an account, or keep a loyalty card handy, an installable web app does that on every phone, from one link, with no store and no annual app-store fee. We tell you which you need before you spend a cent.

“Is a PWA still worth it in 2026?”

More than ever. A progressive web app installs to the home screen, works offline, and sends notifications, without the store, the review wait or the fee. People say it is not popular, but that is because nobody markets the install, not because it does not work. Instagram, Uber and Starbucks have all leaned on it. For most small businesses it is the fastest, cheapest way to get a real app into a customer’s hand, and native is the upgrade for when you truly need it.

“Does my business actually need an app?”

Honestly, maybe not yet. An app earns its place when the same customers come back often, on their phone, to do a real thing, book, order, track, check in. If people find you once and leave, that is a fast website, not an app, and building an app instead just hides you behind a download nobody will bother with. We would rather talk you out of the wrong app than sell you an icon that sits unused on a shelf.

“Can I build my own app with AI?”

You can build something, and it is worth doing to test an idea. Point a chatbot or an app maker at it and you will have screens by this evening. Where it falls down is everything after the screens, getting it onto a real phone, through store review, past a data-privacy check, and keeping it updated when the phones change under it twice a year. The demo is the easy 10 percent. Shipping and keeping it alive is the 90, and that is the part we do.

“What does the paid Apple developer account get me?”

It is the yearly fee Apple charges to put a native app in the App Store, and Google charges a one-off small fee for Play. That is the price of the stores, not the price of the app, and plenty of businesses never need to pay it, because an installable web app skips both. When you do go native, we publish under your own developer accounts, so the app is yours, not sitting inside ours.

“Do I need a company or CC to publish an app?”

To publish as a business rather than an individual, the stores do want a registered company, and Apple wants a free D-U-N-S number for it, which takes a few days. You can start as an individual, but a company keeps your home details off the listing and looks the part. We walk you through exactly what the stores need, so it is a short admin job, not a wall, and none of it is a reason to delay a web app, which needs none of it.

“Will AI replace app developers?”

No, and it is a fair thing to wonder given who is telling you. AI writes code extremely well and we use it every day, it is why an app costs less than it did three years ago. What it cannot do is decide whether you need an app at all, get it past two separate store reviews, or answer for a customer’s data when something goes wrong. The typing was never the expensive part. The judgement was.

FAQ

Still wondering.

How long does it take to build an app?

+

A simple installable web app is usually a few weeks. A full native app in both stores takes longer, but from one codebase, not two. We build in pieces, so you are holding real screens on your own phone early, not waiting months for a reveal.

Do I have to put it in the App Store?

+

No, and often you should not. An installable web app reaches every phone from a link, with no store, no review wait and no fee. We only go to the stores when you genuinely need the camera, reliable notifications or full offline use.

Will one build work on both iPhone and Android?

+

Yes. We build from a single codebase, so the same work becomes the iPhone app and the Android app rather than two separate projects. You are not paying to build the same thing twice, and both phones stay in step when we update.

Can people use it offline?

+

Yes, within reason. A web app can cache what someone needs so it keeps working with no signal and syncs when it returns. If your app lives or dies on deep offline use, that is one of the few clear reasons to go fully native, and we will say so.

Do I need an Apple or Google developer account?

+

Only for a native store app. Apple charges an app-store fee yearly, Google a modest one-off. We publish under your own accounts so the app is yours. An installable web app needs neither, which is part of why it is the cheaper first step.

Who owns the app and the code?

+

You do. The code sits in your repository and any native apps are published under your own store accounts, in your name. Ask this before you pay anyone, because plenty of app makers keep your app locked inside their platform and quietly rent it back.

Can you connect the app to the systems I already use?

+

Usually, yes. If your tools have an API, and most modern ones do, the app can read from and write to them directly. Where something genuinely cannot connect, we tell you plainly rather than sell you a workaround that breaks in a few months.

What happens when Apple or Google change the rules?

+

We keep the app compliant. The phones and the stores change under every app twice a year, and because yours is coded rather than trapped in an app maker, we fix it directly. You are not left waiting on a platform or watching your app quietly stop working.

Is this the same as your AI website builder?

+

No. The builder makes ranking websites. This is a real mobile app your customers install and open, on their phone, again and again. Different job, and plenty of businesses want a fast website first and an app only once people keep coming back.

What is the first step?

+

A short, honest conversation about who would open your app and why. Tell us what you picture, and we will tell you whether you need a native app, an installable web app, or honestly just a faster website. No real use case, no build, we will say so.
